Baby Theo Hospital Birth // Vacaville, CA

This birth story in Vacaville, California is one I will never forget.

I had the honor of supporting this sweet couple as both their photographer and doula as they welcomed their first baby into the world. Their journey into parenthood began with an induction and unfolded over the course of more than a full day. It was long, intense, and required everything they had to give.

From the very beginning, this mama approached labor with strength and determination. She worked through each stage with incredible focus, choosing to labor without pain medication for as long as she possibly could. As time went on and exhaustion set in, she made the decision to accept support so she could rest and continue forward with the strength she needed to bring her baby into the world.

Birth asks so much of a mother, and this one gave everything she had. Her resilience, her courage, and her willingness to keep going through each wave of labor was truly powerful to witness.

What stood out just as much was the way this couple worked together through it all. There was constant support, encouragement, and presence between them as they moved through each moment side by side.

After a long and demanding labor, their baby boy finally arrived. The room shifted from effort to overwhelming relief and joy as they met their son for the first time.

These are some of my favorite images because they hold so much truth. They tell the story of perseverance, partnership, and the strength it takes to become a mother.

It was an honor to stand alongside them and document the beginning of their family.
