I’m Nicole!
Photography is deeply personal for me. I’ve been fascinated by the idea of time travel for as long as I can remember (huge Outlander book and TV series fan here)! While we can’t actually time travel, I like to think of photography as the closest thing we can get to it. I want to look back on the moments that meant the most to me and travel back to them and experience it all over again with vivid detail. On the hardest days, I want to glance at a wall in my home and see the memories our family is building together to always remember that the good outweighs the bad.
Nearly fifteen years ago I became a wife. Two years later, a mama. And not long after that, I picked up my first “fancy” camera. That was the start of what would become one of the greatest joys of my life, a way to express my artistic and creative side.
Since then, I’ve had three more beautiful children with my husband, my childhood crush, how I landed him I will never understand. Through every season of my own babies, moves, and growth, my camera has been there to capture memories. Families have trusted me to capture their special moments in all walks of life: maternity, birth, newborn, family, weddings and beyond. I am entirely self-taught and love the creative outlet this profession provides me with.
Born and raised in Southern California, I spent my childhood riding horses and competing in gymkhanas. I loved barrel racing the most! I also played volleyball and was very energetic. These things helped me focus on the things I loved while being raised in a challenging environment.
While pregnant with our first child, my husband and I made the move from Southern to Northern California where we spent five years and where I began my photography career.
We eventually found our home in Texas, on a little three-acre piece of quiet country life just outside of Houston. Here, we homeschool our four kids, and tend to our animals. Our kiddos are involved in a lot of activities as they’ve gotten older including baseball, 4-H, theater, music, and dance. We live a very busy life keeping up with them!
Motherhood has shaped every part of how I see the world. After personally experiencing both hospital and home births, I became deeply passionate about the beauty, strength, and sacredness of that journey in all its forms.
Whether a birth unfolds quietly at home or within the walls of a hospital, I believe every story of bringing life into the world deserves to be honored. That perspective continues to guide how I photograph mothers and families. I strive to embrace empathy, reverence, and a deep respect for each woman’s unique path.
I currently offer home birth and birth center photography services for labor and delivery. I’m happy to recommend other local birth photographers for hospital deliveries.
In recent years, our family has been on a deeper spiritual journey, one that’s drawn us into the rich, ancient rhythms of the Eastern Orthodox Church. We have finally found a faith home that feels timeless and whole.
I strive to capture stories of love, family, and belonging through a lens shaped by all these seasons of life and can’t wait to capture your unique memories.
